Loren Michaels Harris: Power User Q&A on Symposium

Loren Michaels Harris

The Power is in the User

Loren Michaels Harris spotlight on Symposium. a dedicated life coach sharing his story and helping others to do the same. Everyone has a story and every story needs to be told as the footprint of our lives, according to Loren. He is a motivational speaker, coach, mentor, author, producer, and host, all of which help him to share his story. He is a Symposium power user and was able to continue using the platform after stay-at-home orders were put in place to keep growing his business. We held a Q&A with Loren to get to know him better.

  • What three words best describe you?

Loren: Unfiltered, productive, and adventurous

  • Tell us your story

We all have a story that is waiting to be told, says Loren. Every scar we have has a story connected to it and we can learn from every scar and wound. I work with people and encourage them to believe in and write a story that can be left behind. In the end, all we leave behind are stories and everyone has a unique one. I love talking with people and hearing their stories whether it is on my morning Facebook Live show, Bathrobe Moments, or in line at the grocery store.  I work with people to help them find their passion and purpose. Anyone can be an authority on a topic when they can look at their experiences and share stories based on them

  • Do you have any hobbies?

Loren: Yes, I play tennis and do yard work, but I love everything I do and find joy in every experience. Working with kids as the organizer of The Power of We Symposium, an event dedicated to reminding each child that they can achieve anything, if only they put their mind to it. I am the voice of kids in foster care. Recently I have learned to run toward things rather than away from things. Sometimes, I do need to stop and take a breath and focus on my blessings and that there are so many things much bigger than I am.

  • What is your best piece of advice for others?

Loren: My best advice is Seek! Never stop seeking! Life is an adventure and every step you take moves you forward. You can take the lead in life and feel happy and successful. Depression is when we feel we cannot move forward, we cannot fix things, so we need to keep discovering and being active in life.

  • What do you like about Symposium?

Loren: I like everything about Symposium. The platform was there when there was nothing else that could serve my needs. The people there listen to me, encouraged feedback, and made changes to the platform based on my and other users’ needs. I was using the 1-to-1 and 1-to-many platforms and wanted to do vote counting and Symposium was willing to work with me and offer a new service. Symposium offers great value and it is a great way for a small voice to reach their audiences. Troy and the others there are like family to me.

  • What advice do you have for other Symposium users?

Loren: I would tell other users to take advantage of the opportunities Symposium provides, get off the platform until you are ready to use it so don’t do it halfway. There is platinum—not gold—in these hills and you will be called back when you are ready.
